How do I reserve a shelter house when planning a party for friends/family? Members are able to reserve the shelter houses adjacent to the pools for gatherings by calling the office at 812-536-9272. While the shelter houses can be reserved, the pools cannot. Please remember to clean up after your event.

Of course, you will see paddle boarders, kayakers, canoes and fishing boats all sharing the lake. We always encourage life jackets. Be watchful of children, we do not have lifeguards on duty.

As a lot owner, may I use the trash services?

 Dogs must be kept on a leash, tie-out or in a fenced area on the owner’s property.  Pets are not allowed to run loose in the confines of the village.

Trash bins are furnished behind the maintenance building for Homeowners only. No lot owner is allowed to bring trash from home and dump in the bins at the village.  Homeowners are charged through their assessment a fee for the use of the trash bins. Please distribute trash equally between bins so we do not over fill. We are charged extra for bins that are too heavy.

The trash bins are for household trash only.  Furniture, appliances, wood, metal, or any items used in remodeling of a home are not permitted in the trash bins.  A warning letter will be sent for the first offense of illegal dumping after which a fine of $100 will be assessed if another offense is committed.

One of the things that make LHV special is the wildlife. There is no hunting or the discharging of firearms allowed in the village.

 All dwellings must contain fifteen (1500) square feet in the main building  exclusive of one-story open porches, patios, balconies, carports, garages and basements.  All lots shall be used for residential purposes unless designated for other use on said  plat. No residential lot shall have more than (1) single family resident erected the

We do not allow any gas motors on any of the lakes. Only electric trolling motors are allowed. This minimizes the wave erosion to our shoreline, and of course reduces the noise.

No, Lake Helmerich Village is a private community. You must be a homeowner or lot owner in good standing. A member of LHV may have guests, but must be present. You may not borrow your access cards to anyone unless you are present. Direct family members may be allowed access when the members requests a access card from the board of directo

Trespassing will be be considered a matter for law enforcement. Abuse by a member may constitute a loss of access and fines.

There have been questions regarding trees falling into the lakes. It is the lot owner or homeowner's responsibility to remove the trees that have fallen into the lake. Please be kind and don't just leave them there.

15. WATERFRONT LOTS. Each lot owner adjoining the waterfront shall have the exclusive right to use and enjoy the land lying between his lot line and lakeshore line; provided, however, that the rights hereby granted the lot owner to said waterfront and lakeshore area shall not conflict with and shall be subordinate to the right of the ASSOCIATION to do all things necessary to protect, preserve and maintain the lake and said waterfront and lakeshore area. The owner of each waterfront residential lot shall be required to maintain, at his own expense, a clean and uncluttered waterfront and shoreline. Boat docks must be kept in good condition. In providing such maintenance, the original shoreline shall not be changed by the removal of sand, dirt, gravel or other material of which the shoreline is formed. 

13. EROSION OF LOTS. In the event a lot owner shall fail to take steps to prevent erosion of the soil of his lot or lots, the ASSOCIATION shall have the right to prevent such erosion and collect the costs hereof from the owner.

All board member minutes can be seen from either the website or in a binder at the shop office. Notice that minutes cannot be posted until the board approves them first. Minutes are usually approved at the following months board meeting. Any member may come to board meetings.
